I’m passionate about helping startups grow.
I currently a Director at M12, Microsoft's Venture Fund, on the Portfolio Development team covering Artificial Intelligence. I have the amazing job of working with our founders to solve operating challenges and help expand their businesses. I have also had the chance to lead our relationship with OpenAI and internal AI teams. In addition, I am an active board member currently holding the M12 board observer seat for three of our portfolio companies, with eight total board roles over my tenure.
Outside of my work at M12, I have extensive involvement in the startup ecosystem, as a Limited Partner at Rhino Ventures in Vancouver, a mentor at Techstars Seattle, and angel investor in multiple startups. I have also been a business advisor for the Women in Cloud organization, represented Microsoft at TechTO's pitch nights, and a volunteer and board advisor for MontrealNewTech.
I am fortunate to have spent the last decade meeting and working with startup founders nearly every day. I have had exposure to companies all over the world having had the opportunity to work, study, volunteer, and travel to over 65 countries including living in Canada (home), France, Singapore, Switzerland, Ecuador, and in the USA.
Thank you for visiting and please reach out if you believe there is an opportunity for us to work together.
Artificial Intelligence - Generative AI has been my primary focus and I have had the chance to interact with companies across the entire AI tech stack. Starting with cloud infrastructure (Dmatrix), Models (OpenAI, Nixtla, Fastino), data platform and LLMops (Arize, Unstructured), Applications (Typeface) and Agents (Workspan).
Business Applications - Software the cuts across the lines of business and enables them to operate more efficiently such as marketing tech, sales tech, strategy tech, etc. Examples of AI startups I have worked with in these areas Typeface, Workspan, and Brev.io.
Real Time Voice: I'm particularly interested in the potential of advanced voice technology (voice to voice) as a more natural way to interact with applications. There is work to be done all through the technology stack make voice models more performant and efficient. In addition, at the application layer, the user interface and how voice is blended with traditional UI also has lots of potential.
Action based workflows: The ability for the application, or AI agent in this case, to move beyond chatbot and take actions on behalf of the user is another area I am excited about. While there are a lot of great demos for browser based agents, and regressive coding agents, there are still many problems to be solved to have agents that can accurately and consistently complete workflows.
